My father-in-law, instead of buying a new truck when he retired,
decided to turn his current (original owner) truck into what he'd always wanted. So here goes.......

Details...
1985 Ford F150 Shortbed Stepside
In-line 6, 4 speed manual, about 120 HP.
White, red stripes, red vinyl & plastic interior
No options except A/C and PS.

The Plan... Restore the truck!
Body-off the frame paint job. Colbalt Blue Mica w/ two pearls. Base coat - clear coat.
All new tan cloth and leather interior. Goal is to give more of a "car like" feeling inside.
Replace bench seat with a pair of buckets and a console.
Add carpet and a head-liner.
New gauges and automatic floor shifter.
Replace rotted wooden bed floor with diamond plate steel. Line-X to match paint.
All new door and window seals.
Front and back glass out for paint job.
De-rust and POR-15 frame while body is off to paint.
New suspension, wheels, tires.
The Engine... No more 6 banger!
'91 Mustang GT 5.0 HO with 4 speed auto.
Bored "30 over"
All new internals.
Stock cam.
(About the cam. He's never gonna race it, or even see 4 grand in this thing. So no cam upgrade.) We're building for low-end torque.
AFR 165 heads.
1.60, 1.90 valves
Stock length, hardened push rods.
1.7 roller rockers.
Polished Cobra Intake.
Polished Aluminum Cobra valve covers.
AccuFab 70mm throttle body.
C&L mass air. 76mm
K&N cone air cleaner. Custom cold air induction.
Magnaflow dual 2.5" exhaust. X-pipe
Ceramic coated long-tube headers.
Fully assembled by: Courtney (his daughter / my lovely wife). Some of you know her as "car chick"!
