Summer was slow and hot, so here's the fall update! |
Had
to relocate the alternator. Here's the start of the new bracket.
Un-polished
Vortech supercharger.
Alternator
relocation.
Success!
Wrong!
Now the supercharger hits the top of the alternator when we set it in
place. Major problem!
The
only option. Raise the supercharger and get it away from the alternator.
Good
thing the owner of the truck is an Auburn University Industrial Design
graduate!
Here
it is, on paper at least.
Now
it's digitized.
Timo
at Ceramic Harmony in Huntsville turns is into a digital image.
Once
it's in the computer, Timo will clean it up a bit.
I
come in and "Ok" the final image, then.....
.....it's
cut on a water jet.
Display
screen on the digitizer thingy.
Final
scanned image on the computer.
Test
fitting bracket. This one is cut in wood.
Another
view.
The
final product, water jet cut from 1/4" steel flat stock. The logo
is the Auburn Band logo. Courtney built the engine, and was in the Auburn
Band. Now you know.
Old
bracket on left. New one on the right. Alternator goes on bottom, supercharger
on top. Notice there's more room between them now.
New
bracket goes off to be chrome plated. Supercharger will get polished
at the same time.
